The award-winning Polish film director and screenwriter Jan Komasa studied in PWSFTviT Lódz Film School in Lodz, Poland. He is best known for the short Nice to See You (2004), the award-winning triptych Ode to Joy (2005), the documentary The Flow (2007), and his internationally acclaimed cinematic debut Suicide Room (2011). Komasa spent 8 years researching the Warsaw Uprising which resulted in two cinematic films in 2014, the documentary Warsaw Uprising and the film MIASTO 44 (AKA Warsaw 44). For his work, Komasa was honored in 2015 with a Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture and Silver Cross of Merit.
